International Students
Howick Intermediate provides middle schooling for 11 to 13 year old students. Our emphasis is on personalising learning and ensuring that all students are enabled to succeed in a happy, safe and caring environment.
We are a well-established school with a proud history and a long tradition of highly achieving students who have gone on to have a positive impact on both the local and international community. Our broad, holistic education fosters positive virtues, inquiry, creativity, critical thinking and global citizenship.
Our school is located in Howick, East Auckland, and is close to beautiful beaches, modern malls and transport. School facilities include specialist and technology blocks, a large field equipped with a fitness circuit, a library and information centre and a school hall. We are the only intermediate (middle school) in the area with a swimming pool.
There are a wide range of sporting and cultural opportunities for students. Cultural festivals, as well as performances by the choir, orchestra, jazz band and rock bands make our school dynmamic and stimulating.
We have full language immersion tuition and a graded specialist ESOL programme. Students also have opportunities to compete in international examinations.
There is a well-established learning pathway for students in the Howick area with many of our students going to either Macleans College, Botany Downs Secondary College, Howick College or Pakuranga College.
We have successfully catered for international students for many years and have a wealth of experience in this area. We are able to arrange accommodation with caring and supportive Howick homestay families. Parents are kept well informed about the academic progress and well being of their children.
