Education Outside the Classroom
Camp
Camp is one part of our EOTC programme. As we have composite classes ie Year 7 and Year 8 students in the same class, we go to camp every alternate year. Camps are for two nights and three days.
Students participate in a wide range of exciting activities. A remarkable difference is noted in a student's personal confidence and self esteem once they have attended camp.
Colour Rush
We hold an annual Colour Rush, usually in Term 4. Students participate through a series of activities and different colour stations. This event is a fun, exciting morning for the students.
Social Actions
Each whānau completes a social action, usually in the local area and often environmental, such as beach clean-up, stream maintenance etc.
Tree Planting
Our Enviro group works together with Auckland Council to restore native ecology, by planting trees in the reserves in our local area such as Ohuiarangi te maunga (Pigeon Mountain).
