Enrolment Information

We only accept applications for in-zone enrolments.

Eligibility

To be eligible for enrolment as an in-zone student at Howick Intermediate, the student must reside within the school's designated home' zone for the duration of the school term. If you are uncertain about residency within our school's home zone, please refer to the list of streets within our zone below or search your address on the Education Counts website to identify the in-zone schools your home address resides in.

How to Apply

Our online application requires several documents to be uploaded at the time of submission. These documents are to be in .pdf format. Original documents will need to be scanned and uploaded when requested. Agreements will need to be viewed online and then marked that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions.

NB: Incomplete applications will not be processed.

In Zone Enrolment

Howick Intermediate strictly follows the Ministry of Education guidelines for school entrance. Students of intermediate age who live within Howick Intermediate School's zone are entitled to attend the school in accordance with the Enrolment Scheme. Details of this scheme and the definition of "living in zone" can be found above.

Applications for in-zone placements can only be accepted once the student resides in the school zone with their parent(s) or legal guardian. It is important to note that "living in the school zone" requires the student to have their main permanent residence within the zone.

The Enrolment Process

The enrolment application process will take approximately 10 minutes. Please ensure you have ALL of the following documentation ready to upload as you work your way through the application.

NB: Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Required documents

  • Your child's birth certificate or passport.

  • Your child's visa (if applicable)

  • Parent's passport with visa and date of entry into NZ (if applicable).

  • Your child's latest school report.

  • Any legal documentation supporting custody/access arrangements (if applicable).

  • Any documentation supporting medical conditions or learning difficulties (if applicable).

  • Signed Digital Citizenship Agreement (Located on page 13 of the application form).

  • Signed Student Phone Agreement (Located on page 13 of the application form).

  • Two proof of residence documents. If these are not in a caregiver's name you must complete a statutory declaration, to be signed by a JP.

    (Statutory declarations can be requested from the school office).

    Our Principal, Deputy Principals and School Councillors visit our main contributing schools, and information on how to enrol will be provided.

Orientation Dates

  • Open Day - 9 - 14 August

  • Year 6 Orientation Visits - 6 November

  • New Parent Information Evening - 6 November, 7:00 pm
